An off-duty police officer has been charged after an investigation into an alleged assault in the Southern Highlands earlier this year.
Shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday 28 March 26, officers attached to The Hume Police District were at a concert in Bowral when patrons complained about the behaviour of a man and a woman at the venue.
When police were attempting to remove the man, they will allege a 26-year-old woman intervened assaulting two officers, with one officer having her spectacles smashed.
The woman was taken to Bowral Hospital after claiming to be unwell; however, left a short time later.
Following inquiries, the woman – who is a constable attached to a Southern Region command – was today (Saturday 13 June 2026), issued with a Court Attendance Notice for four offences: hinder/resist police in execution of duty (two counts), and assault police (two counts).
She is due to appear in Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
Her employment status is under review.
