Online Safety Laws have got your back

“Serious online abuse, I didn’t think it would happen to me. I tried to get it taken down, but nothing happened. But then I reported it to eSafety.gov.au.

Research shows that few Australians would know what to do if they experienced severe online abuse.

That’s why we have launched an advertising campaign to explain that there are laws in place to protect Australians from severe online abuse, including sharing explicit images without consent, illegal and violent content, and severe harassment and threats.

People who have experienced severe online abuse can make a report to eSafety to get dangerous content removed.

The campaign runs from 29 January to 30 June 2024, with ads primarily delivered through online channels including social media.
