Patterson Lakes Community Centre update

Patterson Lakes Community Centre update

The Patterson Lakes Community Centre Incorporation has informed Council that its members have voted to cancel the Incorporation and cease to operate. They will now lodge an application for cancellation of incorporation with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

As a result, it will not be resuming operations at the Council-owned building once the current COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

The Patterson Lakes Community Centre Incorporation is currently finalising its closure, which includes a standard 28-day public submission period with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

It is also contacting all members and user groups , including all hire agreements, to notify them that the cancellation of the incorporation has been finalised.

We understand the community is keen to understand the next steps following the announcement by the Patterson Lakes Community Centre Incorporation.

Council joins with the community in acknowledging and thanking the many volunteers who have served the community at the centre over many years in many roles, providing a welcoming space and opportunities for learning, fun and friendship.

Council will now need to carefully consider and consult with the community for the future use of the site.

Please note, the closure of the Incorporation does not impact on the Patterson Lakes Library which will re-open once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Any interested community members are invited to register to be kept informed of updates on the future of the site. Register for updates here.
