An investigation is underway after a woman died when she was struck by a garbage truck in Sydney’s west today.
Emergency services were called to Power Street near Crawford Road, Doonside, about 7am (Tuesday 31 March 2020), following reports of a crash.
Police have been told the woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, was struck by a garbage truck and died at the scene.
Officers from Blacktown City Police Area Command established a crime scene, which is being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The 55 year-old driver of the truck was uninjured and taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
