Police are investigating after two pedestrians were injured after being hit in separate incidents in the Sydney metropolitan area.
The first incident happened about 9.30pm yesterday (Thursday 8 April 2021), when an 80-year-old man was struck by a utility as he crossed Gow Street, Padstow.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head and arm injuries.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command spoke with the driver of the yellow Holden ute, a man believed to be aged in his 50s. He was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and have commenced an investigation.
The second – unrelated – incident occurred about 12.50am today (Friday 9 April 2021), when a man was hit by a van on Wattle Street, Ultimo.
The 23-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition with head, neck and leg injuries.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and spoke with the 46-year-old man who’d been driving the white Toyota Hiace van; he has undergone mandatory testing.
