Perth Jobs Fair to help West Australians get into a job

The Morrison Government is holding a jobs fair showcasing employment opportunities in and around Perth on Tuesday 20 April 2021 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre with almost 4000 jobs on offer. The Perth Jobs Fair, which follows recent jobs fairs in Devonport and Hobart, will bring together job seekers and local businesses from across Perth and Western Australia.

Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, said the jobs fair will promote a wide range of employment opportunities for West Australians looking to get into work.

‘As we continue to manage the COVID-19 pandemic, the Morrison Government is committed to connecting West Australians with businesses looking to hire,’ Minister Robert said.

‘Creating jobs and boosting Australians’ skills to help them get back into work is at the heart of our Economic Recovery Plan.

‘Continuing the strong momentum we’ve seen in the Western Australian labour market, we want as many West Australians as possible to upskill and reskill, and get into work within their local communities, whether in Perth, Kalgoorlie, East Kimberley, the Wheatbelt or Geraldton.’

Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services, the Hon Luke Howarth MP, who will be in attendance at the Jobs Fair, said the Perth Jobs Fair is a must for those who want to connect with businesses hiring across a wide range of industries.

‘The Perth Jobs Fair is designed to help job seekers to get back at work. The March employment figures, including the youth employment figures are very encouraging,’ Assistant Minister Howarth said.

‘I am glad to see that there will be apprenticeships and opportunities in employment and training services, with a big focus on healthcare, hospitality, mining, construction and engineering at the Perth Jobs Fair.’

The Perth Jobs Fair is a free event from 9.30am (AWST), with two sessions throughout the day until 4pm to ensure COVID-19 safety guidelines are met.
