Police call for information over Ravenswood shooting

Police are calling for information over a shooting which occurred in Ravenswood last night in which a 31 year old man was shot in the leg.

The Ravenswood man presented to the Launceston General Hospital about 8.20pm last night after receiving a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower leg.

The man has not made a complaint to police, and investigations to this stage have been unable to establish if anyone else is involved or the shooting was self-inflicted. However police believe there are other people who can provide that information.

“We believe there are other people who know what occurred and we’re calling on anyone with information to come forward to police,” Detective Inspector Kim Steven said.

“The man is well known to us and for reasons only known to him at this stage he is reluctant to speak to police. There is no risk to the greater community.
