Police charge man after double fatality at Laharum

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have today charged a man following a double road fatality at Laharum in December last year.

Emergency services were called to the Western Highway following reports two cars had collided head-on on near Won Won Dah – Dadswell Bridge Road around 10.15am on 27 December.

Sadly, two women died as a result of the collision and three others were seriously injured.

Detectives have interviewed and charged a 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man in relation to the collision.

He has been charged with two counts of both dangerous driving causing death and reckless conduct engendering life as well dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He has been bailed with conditions to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 January for a filing hearing.
