Police charge man after Geelong shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have today charged a man following a shooting in Geelong last week.

A 52-year-old Norlane man has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury gross violence, intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, prohibited person possess firearm and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He faced Geelong Magistrates Court this afternoon and was remanded to appear again at a later date.

The charges following an alleged incident on 31 July where a 19-year-old Norlane man sustained a gunshot wound to his lower body.

He was taken to hospital by an associate and subsequently treated for non life threatening injuries.

The parties involved were known to each other.
