Police charge man with commercial drug supply after heroin and MDMA seized in Bronte

A man has been charged with commercial drug supply after heroin and MDMA worth almost $188,000 was seized in Sydney’s east.

About 9.30pm on Friday (27 March 2020), officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command spoke with the male driver and sole occupant of a Mazda 3 parked illegally at the intersection of Hewlett and Alfred Streets, Bronte.

Police conducted a search of the vehicle and seized a package containing more than 360g of heroin, a plastic bag containing 73.5g of MDMA, $2550 cash and mobile phones.

The total estimated potential street value of the drugs seized is more than $177,600.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

Following further inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a unit at Malabar Road, Maroubra, about 2pm yesterday (Saturday 28 March 2020).

During the search, officers located and seized a firearm, silencer, ammunition, 8.5g of heroin, 17.5g of methylamphetamine (ice), 10g of MDMA, prescription medication and jewellery.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity) and deal with property proceeds of crime.

He appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday (Saturday 28 March 2020), where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Central Local Court on Thursday 28 May 2020.
