Three men have been charged after Drug and Firearms Squad detectives seized methylamphetamine with an estimated potential street value of $35 million.
Last month, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Bethany to investigate the activities of a criminal group believed to be involved in the supply of illicit drugs.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators arrested three men – aged 31, 35 and 36 – as they left a home at Malabar about 7pm yesterday (Tuesday 16 July 2019).
Investigators subsequently executed a search warrant at the home and another home on Essington Crescent, Sylvania.
During the searches, police located 107kg of methylamphetamine in the rear tray of a Toyota Hilux parked in the driveway at Malabar home.
The drugs have an estimated potential street value of $35 million.
The men were all taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity).
Police will allege in court that the men were leaving the Malabar home in possession of the drugs in storage containers.
They have all been refused bail at Waverley Local Court today (Wednesday 17 July 2019).
Investigations are continuing.
