Police charge three after St Albans death 8 July

Homicide Squad detectives have today arrested three males as part of their investigation into the death of a teenage boy in St Albans last month.

Search warrants were executed today at properties in Wyndham Vale, Deer Park and Fitzroy by detectives from the Homicide Squad, Gang Crime Squad, VIPER Taskforce and Yarra Crime Investigation Unit.

An 18-year-old Tarneit man, a 17-year-old Wyndham Vale boy and a 17-year-old Deer Park boy were all arrested.

The trio were interviewed by police and have since been charged with murder.

They will all face a children’s court tomorrow.

Today’s arrests follow an incident in St Albans on 26 June where a 14-year-old Braybrook boy was killed.

Emergency services were called to Bailey Street following reports an injured male had been found on the road just after 11pm.

Police also believe the victim was struck by a vehicle before being stabbed.

The teenager was treated by paramedics at the scene but passed away on the way to hospital.

Two other teenage boys who were with the victim at the time of the incident were physically uninjured.
