The team from the SA Police Water Operations Unit has been in the Mount Gambier region over the last week conducting its annual diver training.
This year the unit was joined by colleagues from the Victorian Police Search and Rescue Squad and the NSW Police Diving Unit.
Over nine days, 20 divers were involved in a range of training scenarios in various locations including Kilsby Sinkhole, Pines Sinkhole, Allendale Sinkhole, One Tree Sinkhole and Piccaninnie Ponds.

This work included divers conducting simulated search scenarios to a maximum depth of 50 metres.
Having the teams from three states working together allowed the sharing of knowledge and expertise which ultimately assists the agencies to work together when responding to major incidents.
The SA Police Water Operations Unit provides specialist skills and knowledge in the areas of marine search and rescue, along with underwater search and recovery and water policing.
Those who are part of the section have undertaken many hours working in challenging circumstances including in freezing water or in poor visibility searching for the victims of drowning, homicide or misadventure, evidence, or even lost property.
