Police lay charges – Domestic violence in Darwin City

Northern Territory Police have charged a man for multiple assaults on his partner.

Police allege that on 6 May in Darwin City, the man struck his partner with a blunt object and caused a facial injury. On 17 May, he allegedly beat the woman again, causing further head injuries.

Officers from Strike Force Lyra located the alleged offender on Monday and he has since been charged with:

  • 3 x Aggravated assault
  • 1 x Threats of injury
  • 1 x Reckless endanger serious harm

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court on 4 July 2022.

Commander Danny Bacon said, “Anyone who is a victim of domestic violence should reach out for help. Call us any time on 131 444 or 000 in an emergency.”
