Police Make Arrest – Stolen Motor Vehicle – Winnellie

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 men after an incident involving a stolen motor vehicle yesterday.

At around 6am, police received reports that a vehicle had been stolen from a business along Winnellie Road, Winnellie. The offenders then attended a business on the Stuart Highway, Noonamah, where they caused property damage and stole food and drink items.

Police were able to track the offenders to Daly River Community.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident and Daly River police, apprehended the vehicle with 3 men aged, 18, 19 and 21 taken into custody without incident.

All 3 offenders have been charged with:

  • Driving/using/riding a motor vehicle without consent
  • Aggravated burglary
  • Damage to property
  • Theft

All have been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court later this week.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Christopher Humphries said “Police are aware of the circulating social media posts regarding this incident and would urge anyone with information to make contact on 131 444.”
