Shepparton Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a 44-year-old man in Arcadia overnight.
It is believed a vehicle was travelling north along the Goulburn Valley Highway when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree near Dawson Road sometime overnight.
A passer-by came across the crash just after 7.30am this morning and called emergency services.
The male driver from Tullamarine, and sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.
