Approximately 18:05 on Sunday 05 MAY 19 a Toyota Hi – Ace camper van travelling west collided with a Kenworth truck travelling west on the Tasman Highway, Nunamara, approximately 1 km west of the Mount Barrow Rd turn off.
The 40 y.o. male driver of the Hi – Ace was killed instantly as a result of the crash.
The 27 y.o. driver of the truck was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for precautionary checks.
Initial investigation and an eye – witness account indicates that the driver of the Hi – Ace had been travelling on the incorrect side of the road for some distance prior to the crash occurring.
