Police Responding To Serious Traffic Crash At Birkalla

Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash in Birkalla this evening, March 26.

Initial information indicates shortly after 5pm, a bus was travelling west on Tully Mission Beach Road and has hit a guard rail, crashing into a small creek near the Banyan Creek Bridge.

8 occupants have been transported to Tully Hospital for examining.

1 occupant has been transported to Tully Hospital then air lifted to Cairns hospital.

1 occupant has been transported to Tully Hospital then air lifted to Townsville Hospital.

3 occupants transported to Innisfail Hospital for treatment.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who have relevant dashcam or CCTV is urged to come forward.
