Police responding to serious traffic crash at Wandal

Police investigating a serious traffic crash at Wandal last night, Wednesday May 18, are calling for witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage to come forward.

Around 6.15pm a collision occurred between a silver 2015 Toyota Corolla hatchback and pedestrian on New Exhibition Road.

The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old Wandal woman briefly left the scene, returning very soon after the crash.

An off-duty paramedic and nurse offered immediate assistance to the injured pedestrian, a 65-year-old Berserker man, ahead of the emergency response.

The man was transported to hospital with serious facial and internal injuries and was later flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment where he remains in a stable condition.
