Thursday Island police are investigating the indecent assault of a woman on the island early this morning (Friday, December 3).
Around 4.20am, the woman was woken by a man who had assaulted her by grabbing while she was sleeping at a Victoria Parade address.
The man fled on foot when the woman woke.
He is described as possibly aged between 20 to 30 of a thin build with black hair and wearing an old hat.
Police are appealing to anyone in the area around 4.20am this morning who noticed anything suspicious to come forward.
