Police have been contacted by the owner of a canoe that was located off Bribie Island on Sunday morning.
As a result of a public appeal by police, the owner made contact with officers yesterday.
Inquiries with the owner reveal that the canoe was tied up on the beach at Deception Bay mid Saturday morning, May 4. The owner left the canoe for a short time and when he returned the canoe was gone.
Brisbane Water Police would like to thank all members of public who have assisted and remind people of the importance of reporting lost or stolen watercraft to ensure valuable assets are not unnecessarily activated.
