Positive COVID-19 Case Update 19 April

Four new positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours.

One male, aged 60, who arrived on the repatriation flight from Chennai on 15 April 2021 has tested positive for COVID-19.

One female, aged 8, and two males, aged 11 and 38 who arrived on the repatriation flight from New Delhi on 17 April 2021 have tested positive for COVID-19.

All four cases are displaying mild symptoms. All are under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience.

Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:

  • 6668 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience.
  • A total of 83 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported from international repatriation.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 124. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
