Property crime arrests in Aitkenvale, QLD

Police have charged four juveniles in relation to a dumped stolen car in Aitkenvale yesterday.

Around 11am, an alleged stolen grey Ford Puma was located in a shopping centre car park and police were called.

Multiple police crews attended and established four people had been seen leaving the vehicle.

Two male teenagers fled along Nathan Street and were pursued on foot by police. Both males fled into Ross River and when police arrived, they negotiated with the teens to get out of the river. Both boys were arrested soon after.

A dog squad officer and his dog located two teenage girls who were identified as being in the stolen Ford and the girls were arrested and taken into custody.

It will be alleged the grey Ford Puma was stolen during an alleged burglary of a Hodel Street, Rosslea residence between 11pm on Friday, March 18 and 10am the following day.

A 16-year-old boy has since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and attempting to enter a dwelling at night.

A 13-year-old boy was charged with a total of 11 offences relating to other matters. He was charged with five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and once count each of attempting to enter a dwelling at night, attempting to enter a dwelling by break, burglary, enter premises to commit indictable offence, enter dwelling with intent by break and stealing.

A 15-year-old girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The three teenagers were refused police bail are due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court.

A 14-year-old girl was also charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
