Public exhibition to occur in 2023 on Amendment C436ggee

The community will be invited to give feedback on an amendment and associated planning permit relating to the construction of an apartment building at a site formerly known as the Rippleside Shipyards.

Council has supported the preparation and public exhibition of a combined amendment and planning permit, subject to authorisation by the Minister for Planning.

The 2.8-hectare subdivided site at 1 Harbourside Drive in Rippleside is located 400 metres east of the Princes Highway near St Helens Park, with access from Liverpool Street.

Balmoral Quay is divided into five approved stages which allows more than 98 dwellings, a restricted recreation facility, convenience store and marina.

Development has been completed for stages one and two for residential buildings, while townhouses are set to be constructed as part of stages three and four in 2023 and 2025 respectively.

Amendment C436ggee relates to stage five and proposes to change the maximum permitted building height from 13.5 metres to 28.2 metres.

On behalf of Balmoral Quay, Urbis has applied for a planning permit that proposes to build 84 apartments in a residential complex that would be 28.2 metres high to the top of services, and a reduction in car parking.
