Queensland businesses and communities are benefiting from employment support loans, payroll tax relief, manufacturing programs and local works funding to help them recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, as Queensland records another day of no new cases.
There are three active cases, 1051 recovered and a total of 1062.
Speaking in Mackay, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said more than $800 million has been approved to businesses across the state to maintain staff and retain operations through COVID-19, helping to support more than 68,000 Queensland jobs.
“Because of our good health response, we’re able to now to focus very clearly on our economic response,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“This week the Treasurer and I are across regional Queensland, meeting with Mayors, meeting with businesses, and making sure that we are working through our second stage of recovery – our economic response to COVID.
“Businesses have taken advantage of our payroll tax relief as well.
“And there’s Works for Queensland, when we are looking at accelerated jobs and local projects.
“This is about getting projects underway as quickly as possible, getting people into work, helping with that recovery because our health response has been so good.
“And if we are to unite and recover, we all have to be working together.”
