- Three Queenslander take home a win at the Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards
- Four Queensland finalists also recognised at the event
- Queensland Government funding supports the veterans’ community
Queensland has scooped three prestigious awards at the sixth Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards in Canberra.
There were also four finalists from Queensland who were recognised for their outstanding work.
The awards recognise and celebrate organisations that employ and support veterans, and veterans and their partners who are making a significant contribution as an employee or entrepreneur.
The winners were:
- Veteran Employee of the Year – Aaron Cornwall, Australian Catholic University, Brisbane
- Excellence in Supporting Veteran and/or Partner Employment – RSL Queensland (the second time RSL Queensland has received the award, also winning in 2022)
- Partner Entrepreneur of the Year – Angela (Angie) Weeks, PTSD Dogs Australian, Rockhampton
- Employer of the Year (Medium) – AMS Group, Brisbane.
Queensland finalists included:
- Veteran Employee of the Year – Jared Morkel, Downer, Townsville
- Veteran Employee of the Year – Mick Quinney, Downer, Townsville
- Partner Employee of the Year – Dr Amy Johnson, Central Queensland University, Rockhampton
- Employer of the Year (Small) – Ravinn, Brisbane.
