Raptor Squad dismantle two clandestine labs in Sydney’s south-west under Strike Force Shaula

Raptor Squad detectives have dismantled two clandestine labs and seized $98,000 worth of prohibited drugs under Strike Force Shaula.

Strike Force Shaula was established in June 2022 by officers attached to State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad to investigate a syndicate with suspected links to the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries, about 6.30am yesterday (Wednesday 7 June 2023), strike force detectives executed three search warrants in Cabramatta, Riverwood and Smithfield.

During a search of the Cabramatta address, officers located $9500 in cash, 500 grams of cannabis, three ounces of methylamphetamine, an ounce of heroin, over 150 suboxone strips, 50ml of GBL, ammunition, mobile phones and items consistent with the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.

Specialist officers attached to the Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Unit and Technical and Forensic Support Unit were called in to process and dismantle the suspected labs, which will continue today (Thursday 8 June 2023).

During the execution of the search warrant in Riverwood, police located a further $7000 in cash, 12 grams of methylamphetamine and a number of mobile phones.

At the Smithfield address, police located 30 grams of methylamphetamine and 200 grams of cannabis.

All the items were seized to undergo further forensic examination.
