Reducing impacts of flooding while improving safety in Felixstow

Work has commenced on a City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters project which will reduce the impacts of flooding, while improving safety for pedestrians and other road users in Felixstow.

The $1.25 million Langman Grove Road Reconstruction Project includes new stormwater infrastructure at the intersection of Wicks Road and Langman Grove, as well as 200m of new kerbing, 16 new pram ramps, new line marking and median strips.

Mayor Robert Bria said the Council is committed to the ongoing maintenance and upgrade of the City’s infrastructure.

“With winter just around the corner, the community will definitely see the positive impacts of this work – particularly when it comes to drainage after a heavy downpour,” Mayor Bria said.

“Langman Grove is very popular with road users and the Council appreciates the community’s patience while this important work is being undertaken.”

During construction times (7:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday) detours will be in place for all traffic, except buses. Residential access and buses only will be permitted after hours.

Langman Grove is a Council-owned and maintained road that stretches from Briar Road to Wicks Avenue.

“The Council wishes to acknowledge and thank the Federal Government for its ongoing financial assistance for this Project,” Mayor Bria said.

The Project is funded by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in conjunction with the Federal Government Roads to Recovery Program and Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Work at the site is scheduled to be completed in April.
