Young people across Townsville can now register for the 2024 Townsville Youth Conference at Townsville Stadium on Saturday 9 March.
This exciting conference brings young people together to network, hear about new ideas, and get involved in making Townsville a better city to grow up in.
Young Australian of the Year finalist Jahin Tanvir and LiteHaus International CEO and Young Australian of the Year Finalist 2022 Jack Growden will deliver keynote speeches as part of the event.
A Townsville City Council spokesperson said young people wanting to get involved should register now.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the Townsville Youth Conference to Townsville Stadium this year. If you’re between ages 12 and 25 and are interested in having your say on how Townsville works for young people, jump online now and register before 11:59pm on Friday 3 March,” the spokesperson said.
“This program will encourage participants to be involved in consultation, sharing ideas, and cross-collaborating with their peers for a full day of activities.
“The conference is proudly presented by Townsville City Council and Townsville Youth Council to inspire and empower young people across the city.
“Council is proud to be transforming Townsville into a city where every resident has a sense of belonging, especially our talented and hardworking young people.”
Mr Growden said he was already looking forward to the event and hoped it sparked inspiration in Townsville’s young people.
“I am delighted to be speaking with the future leaders of our city,” he said.
“I hope that by sharing my story of founding and leading one of Australia’s fast-growing NGOs from Townsville, I can demonstrate that it is possible to have an impactful, fulfilling, international career from regional Queensland.”
