Rider suffers life-threatening injuries after Brookfield crash

A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash in Brookfield last night.

It appears the 28-year-old rider, who was travelling on a motorcycle on Brooklyn Road, lost control at a roundabout on Tuesday 8 September about 7.50pm.

Shortly before the collision local highway patrol officers, who were performing speed radar duties, attempted to intercept the rider who speed off.

Police lost sight of the rider and did not pursue before notification was received of a crash nearby.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are on site processing the scene.

Detectives are investigating whether speed was a factor in the crash.

Professional Standards Command has been notified and will oversight the investigation as per normal procedure when an incident occurs following recent police contact.
