COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,022 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,412 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 80s and a woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 244 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including five people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 142 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 100 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and two have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 98.2% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday 4,957 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 10.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 998 PCR tests were positive, while 1,024 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
