COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,910 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,432 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 70s, who tested positive for COVID-
19, have passed away.

There are 217 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 130 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 82 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and five have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 23 May has found 98.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 6,305 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 8.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,058 PCR tests were positive, while 852 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
