COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,565 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,678 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 209 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 112 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 97 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and eight have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 13 June has found 80.7% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,132 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 1% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,532 PCR tests were positive, while 1,033 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
