Stanley and New Norfolk shine on National stage

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events

I’d like to congratulate both Stanley and New Norfolk for being awarded bronze in the inaugural Search for Australia’s Top Tourism Towns, as announced by the Australian Tourism Industry Council.

The Awards acknowledges Australia’s Top Tourism towns, and follows each state and territory running their own competitions earlier this year.

This is a great acknowledgement of two terrific regional towns and shows that Tasmania is again more than capable of punching above its weight when it comes to visitor appeal.

Stanley won Bronze in the Small Top Tourism Town with a population less than 5,000, and New Norfolk also won Bronze in the Top Tourism Town with a population more than 5,000,

Both of these achievements are well deserved, and I’d like to encourage Tasmanians and visitors alike to get out and experience all the wonders they have to offer.
