Stolen Vehicle And Break And Enter Chargesin Brisbane

Two men have been charged following a series of incidents across the Brisbane region involving stolen vehicles last night, 2 July.

Around 9.36pm Thursday, police were called to Grange following reports a 27-year-old Bowen Hills man had his vehicle stolen.

Investigations indicate the man, a food delivery driver, was stopped outside a residence on Wilston Street when a red Mercedes-Benz GLC250 pulled up alongside him.

The Mercedes had allegedly been stolen from a Ludwick Street, Cannon Hill, residence around 10.30am yesterday morning.

The occupants of the Mercedes, two men, briefly interacted with the delivery driver before the 33-year-old passenger in the Mercedes exited the vehicle and entered the man’s white Skoda.

Both vehicles then fled the scene.

Police, including POLAIR, continued to track both vehicles across the Brisbane region before the Skoda was dumped in a carpark on Ipswich Road at Moorooka.

The driver then entered another vehicle, a white Kia, which came to a stop a short time later after police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD).

Police, with assistance from the dog squad, located a 33-year-old Annerley man a short time later on Franklin Street and he was taken into custody.

He has since been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle – use in company and possess counterfeit money.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, 3 July.

Around 11.19pm, officers were called to Baron Street, Greenslopes, following reports of an attempted break and enter at a residence.

The stolen Mercedes was located by police outside the address, while the driver, a 31-year-old Annerley man, was located a short distance away at a licenced venue on Logan Road, Greenslopes.

He was taken into custody and has since been charged with two counts of enter dwelling and commit, as well as one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Brisbane magistrates Court today, 3 July.
