Tasmania’s impressive maritime capability on display

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Advanced Manufacturing and Defence Industries

A ‘Tasmanian Maritime Industry Insights Tour’ has been held for local maritime organisations and institutions to raise awareness across the state of our very impressive maritime industry capability.

Tasmania’s maritime industry has grown over many decades and is steeped in a rich history of producing world-class maritime products and services and the provision of best-practice education, training and research.

Senior representatives from the Tasmanian Government, Government Business Enterprises, Commonwealth organisations and other institutions based in Tasmania visited a number of the shipbuilders and manufacturers during the Insights Tour.

We want Tasmania to be the first place organisations look for superior solutions to maritime challenges and requirements.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to empowering Tasmanian businesses to maintain, reclaim and grow our reputation in national and international marketplaces as we recover from COVID-19.

Our recently released Interim Trade Action Plan, and an additional $2.65 million for trade development, is providing real support for our manufacturers and exporters.
