The 2022 Tasmanian Fire Brigades Championships Association – State Firefighter Championships is celebrating its 14th birthday this year.
Taking place over this weekend, the event has attracted a total of 30 career and volunteer teams and about 300 competitors from senior and junior teams at Invermay Park in Launceston.
The brigades and members come together to enjoy the friendly rivalry.
Our cadets and juniors form an integral part of the competitions format, which also inspires many to become our firefighters of the future.
I encourage all Tasmanians to consider volunteering for your local fire brigade or State Emergency Service unit – the camaraderie and community is fantastic, and these events demonstrate this.
