Teenager charged with series of aggravated burglaries and vehicle thefts in eastern suburbs

A teenager has been charged with numerous offences following a series of aggravated burglaries and vehicle thefts Melbourne’s eastern suburbs over the past two months.

The 17-year-old boy is accused of committing multiple aggravated burglaries and vehicle thefts in Glen Waverley between 16 July and 3 September.

Box Hill Divisional Response Unit detectives executed a search warrant at a Glen Waverley address on Thursday 8 September, arresting the teenager.

He is facing a raft of charges including, aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft, obtain property by deception, possess handgun, possess cannabis and breaching bail conditions.

He has been bailed to face a Children’s Court at a later date.

The arrest comes as part of Operation Fortress – an ongoing operation targeting residential burglaries and associated car thefts across Boroondara, Manningham, Monash, and Whitehorse.
