A third person has been charged following an investigation into the alleged theft of livestock trailers in the Monaro region earlier this year.
In July 2021, Strike Force Louarna was established to investigate the theft of two livestock trailers from Cooma.
Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a rural property on Mulloon Road, Mulloon on Tuesday 10 August 2021.
During the search police seized stolen property including 17 vehicles, a boat, a caravan, a bobcat, two heavy vehicle trailers and a number of prohibited firearms.
In September, ongoing investigations by Rural Crime Investigators attached to Monaro and The Hume Police Districts led to the recovery of a further seven heavy vehicle trailers and a Prime Mover that were reported stolen from businesses in the Fyshwick, Queanbeyan and Goulburn areas in early July 2021.
Two men, aged 50 and 29, were charged and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, investigators attended a home on Latchford Street, Theodore, ACT, and spoke with a 19-year-old woman yesterday (Tuesday 12 October 2021).
The woman – from Holder, ACT – was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for steal motor vehicle and is due to appear in Cooma Local Court on Wednesday 8 December 2021.
The total value of the recovered stolen property is estimated to be over $1 million.
