Three charged, drugs seized as police target drug trafficking in Victoria’s southwest

Three people have been charged and a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine has been seized as part of an intensive drug trafficking investigation in Victoria’s southwest.

Detectives from Warrnambool Divisional Response Unit (DRU), with support from Warrnambool Uniform officers executed a search warrant at an address in Lachlan Street, Warrnambool on Monday 20 June, seizing approximately 27 grams of methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $5,400.

They also seized $5,450 in cash, an imitation firearm, numerous prescription drugs and a collection of allegedly stolen tools.

Three people were arrested, including two charged with trafficking methylamphetamine, which comes with a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment.

Those arrested include:

• A 33-year-old Warrnambool man who has been charged with numerous offences including traffick methylamphetamine, deal with the proceeds of crime, handle stolen goods, prohibited person possess firearm, prohibited person possess imitation firearm, and various drug possession charges. He has been remanded to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on 21 June 2022.

• A 26-year-old Warrnambool woman who has been charged with trafficking methylamphetamine and possess methylamphetamine. She has been bailed to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on 3 October 2022.

• A 26-year-old Warrnambool woman who has been charged with possess methylamphetamine. She has been bailed to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on 3 October 2022.
