Three youths arrested following crime spree across Melbourne’s East

Three teenagers have been arrested, following a string of crimes across Melbourne’s East.

On Sunday the 11 June, it is believed an unknown number of offenders broke into a property on Fermanagh Road in Camberwell and stole three motor vehicles, a white Mazda CX3 SUV, a blue 2019 Mazda CX5 bearing the registration 1PC9IK and a green 2019 Mini Cooper bearing the registration BBG394, between the hours of 11pm and 6am.

The group then broke into another property on Lesay Court in Mount Waverley and stole another two motor vehicles, a white 2014 Mercedes Benz bearing the registration 1WR4ZN and a grey 2020 Mercedes Benz sedan bearing the registration BSN487, between 3am and 12pm.

On Monday 12 June, the offenders allegedly broke into two businesses on Matthews Road in Bentleigh East, about 3.15am.

The group then allegedly committed armed robberies at two fast food restaurants on High Street Road in Glen Waverley and on Cheltenham Road in Keysborough, about 4am.

On Tuesday 13 June, the offenders allegedly burgled a business on Springfield Road in Nunawading, about 2.15am.

They then allegedly committed more armed robberies, this time at fast food restaurants on Whitehorse Road in Nunawading, on Burwood Highway in Vermont and on Princes Highway in Eumemmering, between 2.20am and 2.35am.

Detectives believe the offenders were allegedly driving two stolen cars during the robberies, a blue 2019 Mazda CX5 bearing the registration 1PC9IK and a white Mazda CX3 SUV.

The white Mazda SUV was located by police in Clyde North a short time later and three offenders were arrested on Epsom Road following a pursuit.

Officers uncovered several weapons inside the stolen white Mazda SUV.

The trio are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police believe at least five people remain outstanding in relation to the thefts, burglaries and armed robberies.

Investigations remain ongoing and police are continuing to search for four stolen vehicles linked to the offending.

A grey 2020 Mercedes Benz sedan bearing the registration BSN487.
