The picturesque rail journey starts at Toowoomba station and travels down the Toowoomba Range to the award-winning gardens at the historic Spring Bluff station.
Queensland Rail Head of Corporate Affairs Nev Conway said the heritage-listed Spring Bluff station continued to be one of the most iconic destinations on the network.
“Queensland Rail prides itself on connecting communities and we love connecting flower fans with Spring Bluff’s stunning gardens, rich railway history and unique heritage atmosphere,” Mr Conway said.
“The Spring Bluff shuttle has been a treasured part of the Carnival of Flowers experience for generations and attracts visitors from across South East Queensland and beyond each year.”
Mr Conway said Spring Bluff railway station was originally built in the 1860s to service trains tackling the steep climb up the range between Brisbane and Toowoomba.
“Nearly 160 years later, the station continues to delight visitors with its beautifully maintained gardens, heritage buildings and stunning spring displays,” he said.
“We’re proud to support the ongoing preservation of this historic site and help new generations experience the magic of travelling by rail to Spring Bluff.”
The journey takes approximately 35 minutes from Toowoomba, giving passengers ample time to explore the gardens, enjoy a picnic and soak up the Carnival atmosphere before returning.
