Tickets Selling Fast For Geelong Design Week 2024

Excitement is building ahead of next week’s annual design extravaganza with community members encouraged to secure their tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Geelong Design Week 2024 from 21 – 30 November will feature more than 70 exhibitions, workshops, talks, tours and unique experiences that highlight cutting-edge innovation, sustainable practices, and creative problem-solving across multiple design disciplines.

Design plays a crucial role in our quality of life by impacting how public spaces, buildings, transport infrastructure and homes are planned and addressing environmental, accessibility and technological challenges. Cars, social housing, websites, garden landscaping, sustainable packaging and mobility aids are all influenced by design.

By bringing together diverse perspectives and ideas, we can inspire the community and create more inclusive and sustainable solutions.

We have a range of in-person and online events that appeal to designers, creatives, businesses, students, design enthusiasts, families and the broader community.

The School of Lost Arts’ Mary-Jane Walker hosts ‘Human by Nature – Understanding Biophilic Design’ event, helping attendees explore how our deep connection to nature can inform and improve every aspect of our daily lives, homes and workspaces.

Dowel Jones and their collaborators will reveal in their ‘Design Dialogues’ panel discussion their definition of good design in the 21st century, how to build a sustainable business in Australia and where the future lies for meaningful and practical design.

‘Learn Space?Design + Play’ at Geelong Gallery offers families the chance to play and experiment with different materials, colours and shapes to promote design and creative thinking without limitations.

The ‘Introduction to Board Game Design’ online sessions from Geelong Regional Libraries are another highlight, set to arm attendees with the basics of board game design, mechanics, themes, and psychology.

Learn why a strong co-design process can harness diverse ideas and how collaboration helped to uncover our region’s best sporting stories at the ‘Co-designing Geelong Sports Museum: A Winning Team’ talk.

Those in sustainability, circularity, marketing and communications can gain insights into reaching more people by communicating complex ideas through illustration at Elise Motalli’s ‘Learn to draw the Circular Economy’ online workshop.
