Tree works at Botanic Gardens

Elm trees in Horsham’s Botanic Gardens will receive a refresh on Wednesday and Thursday.

Some areas within the gardens will be closed to the public during this period to allow for the large-scale tree works, with exclusion zones set up for safety purposes.

“This maintenance was made possible thanks to a donation received from the Australian Garden History Society to put towards maintaining the garden’s elm trees,” Chief Executive Officer Sunil Bhalla said.

“It’s allowed us to hire a contractor to perform works that we couldn’t have completed otherwise,” Mr Bhalla said.

“The gardens are a favourite amongst families especially, so we want to make sure it’s beauty can be safely enjoyed by all.”

The works will include inspection of all cabling within the trees, as well as the strategic removal of limbs, deadwood, and stubs from branch failure.
