TROPiCON returns, bigger and better than before

In a galaxy not so far away, in a realm where geeks and lovers of pop culture reign supreme, TROPiCON will return to Darwin in November with tickets on sale now.

The international award-winning cosplay master, K Cosplay, will be an exciting addition to the growing event which will take place on 18 November at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and DoubleTree by Hilton.

K Cosplay, who was crowned the 2019 World Cosplay Summit Grand Champion, has made over 400 costumes and has cosplayed for over 23 years. K brings decades of experience, learnings, stories and inspiration from being a part of the global cosplay community to Darwin and TROPiCON event goers.

Following the inaugural launch in 2022 and with the 2023 event now confirmed, TROPiCON is the Territory’s flagship event dedicated to the geek-based sector of Darwin, and this year promises even more for people who love popular culture, gaming, trading cards and collectibles, board games and fun.

The 2023 program will include performance wrestling, special guests, esports competitions, a free-to-play gaming hub, virtual reality booths, hip hop and K-pop dance numbers, exhibitors and stalls, and an artist alley.

In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities to dress up as your favourite pop culture character and walk the halls with the Jedi, or along the bustling streets of Gotham City.

TROPiCON is supported by the Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company. Snap up your tickets at here and to find out more visit here

Quotes from Northern Territory Major Events Company CEO Suzana Bishop

“TROPiCON is a fresh and exciting addition to the Territory events calendar and this year there is even more reason for people to celebrate and enjoy Darwin’s vibrant geek culture.

“Events like TROPiCON not only provide entertainment and encouragement for geek-based groups, they also provide opportunities for Territorians and visitors to join in on the fun and share experiences outside the traditional busy season.

“You might not get the chance to have lots of lives in the real world, but unique experiences like this where you can see some avid costume creators, play video or board games or simply meet new friends will add much value to your current one.”
