Update on Taylors Hill death

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man in Taylors Hill on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to Vaucluse Boulevard about 11.30pm on 7 May and located a man in a black BMW sedan with critical injuries.

Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene but were unable to save him.

He has since been identified as a 31-year-old Craigieburn man.

A 42-year-old man, believed to be the person who shot the victim, handed himself into police this morning and is currently being interviewed.

Detectives received a significant amount of information overnight and are confident as to the identities of the other two men who were present at the scene of the incident.

Enquiries remain underway to locate those men.

Investigators remain confident this was not a random attack and the parties involved are known to each other, however the nature of those relationships are still being determined.

This matter remains a significant priority for investigators and police continue to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around Vaucluse Boulevard, Grange Terrace and Johnston Way between 11pm and midnight on Sunday, including any vehicles travelling through the area that may have dash-cam footage.
