Volunteers have say on new app

More than 1750 CFA volunteers have had their say on the first stage of design for the new Supplementary Alerting Service app.

Volunteers have say on new app

CFA is working with EMV as well as VICSES, Ambulance Victoria (AV) and ESTA on the development of the new app which will value-add to the existing Emergency Alerting Service (EAS paging) and benefit users by improving communications during response.

The survey was open to members from CFA, AV and VICSES to get feedback on the functionality, layout, information and features of some of the proposed SAS screens.

CFA Operational Communications OM Jason Lawrence said the feedback would be used to guide the next phases of the project, and ensure the app meets everyone’s needs.

“The response from our people has been fantastic, and I want to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey,” Jason said.

“This input is essential to ensure the SAS application looks and operates according to the needs of those who will be using it.

“The responses have shown positivity towards the current concepts with most areas scoring an average of four or higher out of five.

“There are also patterns in the scoring and feedback across agencies in each section and the various categories.

“The most important features identified across all agencies were mapping and navigation, event attendance, availability and pager data.

“We’ll now work with EMV and Ernst & Young (EY) to analyse the responses and feed those back into the next stages of design.”
