Woman dies in single-vehicle crash, NSW

A woman has died in a single-vehicle crash in the state’s south yesterday.

Police were told about 8.40pm (Sunday 23 January 2022), a black Nissan Navara was travelling east bound on the Illawarra Highway, Mount Murray, when it veered off the road, before coming to a stop.

Passers-by commenced CPR on the driver, a 63-year-old woman, until emergency services arrived.

Despite efforts to revive her, she died at the scene.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District established a crime scene, with the Illawarra Highway and Macquarie Pass closed from Jambaroo Mountain Road, Robertson, to the Macquarie Pass, Tongarra, for a number of hours.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
