Woman nearly hits police vehicle, charged with high-range drink driving in Paddington

A woman has been charged with high-range drink driving after almost colliding with a police vehicle in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs yesterday.

About 5.50pm (Monday 13 May 2019), police attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command observed a Mazda CX-9 being driven erratically on Oxford Street at Paddington, almost colliding with their fully marked vehicle.

Police moved to avoid the collision, before pulling the Mazda over and speaking with the 33-year-old female driver.

She was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result, then arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

The Bondi Beach woman was subject to a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.275.

Her licence was suspended, and she was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence of high-range PCA, to appear at Waverley Local Court on Thursday 21 June 2019.
