Attorney General John Quigley is pleased to announce the reappointment of Amanda Forrester SC as Western Australia’s Director of Public Prosecutions.
Ms Forrester has successfully steered the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) through a period of expansion and change.
Under her stewardship the agency relocated to improved premises on St Georges Terrace, bringing all the ODPP’s operations under one roof and digitising its systems.
Ms Forrester has acquitted a significantly expanded ODPP Budget, which has been boosted 26 per cent under the McGowan Government.
She also kept the State’s prosecution service operating successfully during the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdowns and public health and social measures.
In addition to administering the agency, Ms Forrester maintained her connection to the courtroom by appearing for the State in significant matters including the prosecution of Francis John Wark and the appeal against conviction lodged by Scott Austic.
Ms Forrester has been appointed to a further five-year term commencing April 6, 2022.

“Her extensive experience in high profile, lengthy and complex criminal trials make Ms Forrester ideally suited to continue to manage and grow the State’s prosecution services for the next five years.”
